Crafting Hope/Ten Thousand Villages event a big success!

Thank you to everyone who braved the traffic and came out last night! The event was a huge success. We’ve now raised almost half of our budget to get to Haiti, because of generous donations from supporters like you.

We’ll post photos of the event on the site soon, so stay tuned!

Crafting Hope Fundraiser – STILL ON!

People have been asking, so I thought I’d let everyone know that our fundraiser is most definitely on for tomorrow night between 6p and 10p at the Ten Thousand Villages store in Bethesda (4959 Elm Street). There is a huge, covered parking lot right across the street from the store and the red line station a few blocks away is underground, so it will be running. Come out of your house for a good cause!

Amanda Hess of the Washington CityPaper wrote an article on feminist themed Valentine’s Day events, and she featured the Crafting Hope Fundraiser (Friday, 2/12 6-10p at the Bethesda Ten Thousand Villages store)! We’re moving forward snow or shine, come on out and remedy your cabin fever! If you’re not in town, you can always donate via our website.

Crafting Hope featured on Blog On Sisters!

Fundraising Event – Feb. 12th @ Ten Thousand Villages in Bethesda, MD

Clear your calenders for our very first MEGA fundraising event! Friday, February 12th the Ten Thousand Villages store in Bethesda, Maryland will be hosting a community shopping event to benefit the film!

Come on out between 6p and 10p to 4959 Elm Street in downtown Bethesda. The generous folks at Ten Thousand Villages aren’t just donating their space, they’ll also be donating 15% of proceeds from all merchandise purchased during the event!

If you’d like to give more directly, we’ll be accepting direct donations by check and credit card.

Many of the businesses featured in the film export to Ten Thousand Villages so you’re supporting lots of good causes just by showing up!

Support victims of earthquake in Haiti!

As everyone knows by now, Haiti was struck by a devastating earthquake on Tuesday, January 12th. Thousands are dead and thousands more are missing. Haiti will be recovering from this disaster for months, even years. If you can, please consider donating to the truly wonderful folks at Voice of Haiti who are providing relief on the ground RIGHT NOW.

We’re still hoping to travel to Haiti for CRAFTING HOPE. While Haiti is in need of emergency donations for relief and aid IMMEDIATELY, income generating livelihood projects like the ones featured in our film and the ones that are currently operating all over Haiti provide lasting support to the men and women they employ.
